Even though Hippocrates statement is not 100% correct, it has a lot of truth behind it.
Leaky gut, also known as Intestinal permeability affects 150 million people worldwide. Over 11,000 studies have been conducted by now that you can look up on PubMed.gov.
The most common irritants are food sensitivities, drugs, toxins, and stress.
A leaky gut can affect your whole body, from sinuses, joints, adrenals, colon, skin, thyroid, and even your brain.
A damaged gut can lead to a whole host of chronic symptoms and even set you on the path to chronic illness.
The proper way to heal a leaky gut is by removing food triggers that create inflammation. The next step is to nourish your gut, supplement and rebalance your probiotics and microbes.
In simple terms, a leaky gut occurs when your small intestine gets damaged and particles begin to leak into your bloodstream.
If you have ever taken a food intolerance test you understand the color code. The best food intolerance tests on the market right now are the Cyrex tests.
Green is a good choice, orange/yellow can be eaten in moderation, and red means stay away.
I use the apple, orange, and tomato from my logo as the indicators.

The recipes I provide will always be gluten free and mostly dairy free, since these are the biggest causes of inflammation and leaky guts. These recipes are not a specific diet plan.
They are more for the 80/20 rule. Enjoy some baked goods on your cheat days, or when your gut is healed you can implement most of the recipes. If you are in the process of healing your gut you need to go through a specific protocol. If you know the foods you can and can’t eat that will be the fastest way to heal.
If you find a recipe you like, but an ingredient is on your do not eat list, I will try my best to help you find a workable substitution. I see a lot of gut protocols on the Internet, that can help the majority of people with minor leaky guts, but again, if your body reacts to something on the protocol that you are not aware of, it won’t fix your leaky gut.
Anytime you go gluten and dairy free it will make you feel way better, but it can also be other foods causing the issues as well. These foods can differ from person to person. Nightshades are huge for some; corn, soy, and eggs might be on others lists. The foods people react to can literally be anything.
Getting started is half the battle.
Very important: if you decide on taking a test, don’t stop eating any food till you have done your test. If you stop eating foods and decide to take a test down the road, the test will not be accurate, as it will not properly show results if the food has not been consumed recently.
Good luck on your journey!KarinYou Can Read My Articles Here
